Turks and Caicos Islands

South of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean (not the Caribbean Sea, like most believe) you’ll discover the Turks and Caicos Islands. There are approximately 30,000 residents spread across the nation of the Turks and Caicos and the spoken language is English. The islands are an archipelago consisting of 40 islands and cays, with two main islands, Grand Turk and Providenciales, the latter of the two, Providenciales is the most developed and offers travellers a plethora of excursions and water sports.   Activities on the beautiful sandy shores include diving, sailing, wakeboarding and tubing, or for a blissful beach day, head to the award winning Grace Bay. There’s plenty to choose from when you come to dine, from Italian and Gourmet to Sushi and delicious home cooking, will Providenciales be your next island destination?   Grand Turk is home to the capital Cockburn Town, a quaint historic town with plenty of cultural sites, make sure to visit the Turks and Caicos National Museum for an informative glimpse into the islands history. For those looking for the ultimate in natural phenomenon, it is advised to watch the sunset by the coast, if you’re lucky you will see the dazzling green flash over the beautiful horizon.   Active travellers should head to the Carnival Cruise Terminal; packed with shops and restaurants and one of the largest pools in the Caribbean it is a great place to spend the day. If you want a bit of everything this holiday, make sure to visit the delightful Grand Turk Island!
