Nicknamed the “Nature Island of the Caribbean” Dominica is found between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea near Puerto Rico and the Trinidad and Tobago islands. The terrain is covered in a mass of fauna and flora and is largely protected, additionally there is a spectacular Boiling Lake, the second largest in the world.   The capital Roseau is full of wonderful historic sites and the Gothic Roseau Cathedral is a must see, the Dominica Museum is a cultural favourite with plenty of history on the island, while beach lovers will not be disappointed by the soft sandy shores found in the South.   Throughout the island you’ll also find the Waitukubuli National Trail, comprising of lush forest and offering lovely walks amongst stunning natural scenery. The UNESCO world heritage site boasts a handful of lakes including the aforementioned Boiling Lake, some exciting volcanic vents and the views in the area are unforgettable.   Regions worth visiting when visiting Dominica include Scott’s Head; a picturesque village in the southwest; the village resides on the lip of an ancient volcano and divers can take advantage of the 160metre deep coral reef left behind and Calibishie; a quaint fishing village boasting palm scattered beaches, freshwater rivers and flowing waterfalls.
