Two islands of near unspoiled beauty, Trinidad and Tobago are found off the north east coast of Venezuela. The bigger sister Trinidad is somewhat rural but offers a spectacular island holiday experience. Boasting sights such as Matelot and Tyrico, there is plenty to see but not much to do. The scenery is inspiring, with much unspoiled rainforest to hike through and exotic wildlife to glimpse upon, the island is ideal for the nature loving tourists.
Trinidad does boast the capital on the North West coast, the Port of Spain. It is a welcoming city with plenty of character and although not the largest on the island, holds the administrative centre title. The best time to visit the capital is during the Trinidad carnival, which takes place a few days before lent and is a combination of Calypso music, dancing, parades and competitions.
Trinidad offers any traveller a near private island retreat, with some impressive surroundings to experience and a hidden spark of life to discover.
